About the author of this website, producer and distributor of the videos:

Cornelia
Cornelia de Vos is 46 years old and lives in Mering, a small town in Germany. She has a grown-up son.

Indoor Fitness has become part of her life since she was in her end twenties. Not only is she indoor cycling, she’s also an avid user of all kinds of fitness video trainings.
“If you have a busy life, fitness training at home saves you a lot of time. In addition to my morning exercise before work I do cycling, running or strength training whenever I can squeeze it into my schedule. I’ve been missing scenery videos for my training on the spin bike. So I started recording these videos.”

About the videos:

“Cycling around here in rural Germany on a sunny day is almost too beautiful to be true!” says Cornelia, the German producer of the videos. “While cycling I was thinking: I have to record this, I have to share it. I’ve been missing scenery videos for indoor cycling anyway, – I had purchased an indoor spin bike recently but couldn’t find these kind of videos.”

What makes the videos so special is the markedly steady image and the fact that the videos are not a conglomeration of scenes but each video is one full interruption-free cycling trip from one town (the starting point) to another town (the arrival point). You can even look up the locations on google maps and follow the streets and alleys Cornelia takes you. “I want to make you feel as if you were on a real bike trip. So before your training you can ponder on ‘cycling to Landsberg today (47 minutes) or better cycle from Altomuenster to Mering (75 minutes)?’

The videos focus on the beautiful scenery of the cycling trip. Graphical features and texts are ‘out of the way’ at the very bottom of the screen: the graphical difficulty bar indicates “easy”, “moderate” or “hard” according to the current scene (downhill, flat or uphill). The user can adjust his stationary bike’s resistance accordingly or modify the meaning for his own training goals.
“E.g. you could use the ‘moderate’ parts for your own Tabata-style training intervals”, suggests Cornelia. The footage doesn’t display performance targets like target RpM or heart rate zones. “This makes the videos more flexible for people to apply their own training goals. On a recreational training day you can even ignore the graphics entirely and just enjoy the beautiful scenery – like you do in real life, when you’re cycling through woods and fields.” People can send Cornelia [ at ] indoor-cycling-videos.com suggestions for future recordings and feedback.
